This post lists below several discount opportunities to for the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. The Museum operates on a pay-what-you-like model (like our tours), but it does have a ‘by donation’ policy like some other museums in New York City (See our post on the Metropolitan Museum of Art).
The AMNH has a suggested admission price of Adult $22 / Child (2-12) $12.50 / Senior & Student $17. You can pay as little $1 and gain entrance. Entrance includes all 45 halls of the museum as well as the Rose Center for Earth and Space. To take advantage of paying less than suggested admission you must buy your tickets at the museum.

American Museum of Natural History and Rose Center for Earth and Space Central Park West at 79th Street
The 45 exhibit halls in this massive four-floor museum include impressive fossil and gem collections, artifacts of cultures throughout the world, the Hall of Human Origins which explores evolution and prehistoric man, the Hall of Reptiles and Amphibians, and numerous detailed dioramas that include life-size models of the world’s peoples, birds, mammals, and even a rain forest. Also part of the museum is Rose Center for Earth and Space, which encompasses the Hayden Planetarium and exhibition halls that give visitors a glimpse into the history and nature of the cosmos.
