Of course, we hope you will join us on our pay-what-you-wish Classic Berlin night tour, but if you are looking for other types of tours, here’s information, along with our analysis of reviews so you can choose what tour, if any, is right for you. Note that most of these tours require that you have an AB Transport card since you will move from locations throughout the city. See our post on using public transportation in Berlin — it’s quite easy once you know how!

Seven nights a week, Alternative Tours goes against the grain and takes small groups out to the less obvious bars so you blend in with the locals. Over the course of 4 1/2 hours, your guide leads you to offbeat drinking venues: a hippie-themed bar, a ping-pong bar, an absinthe bar, a punk-goth-horror bar and a large industrial club.
The emphasis is on mingling and exploring, rather than getting loaded on booze. For the price, you do get a reasonable amount to drink and you are free to purchase more at each locale. Because group size is limited, this is a great tour if you are a solo traveler as you are sure to bond with your fellow travelers.

Reviews – The tour is described as more of an adventure and not a history lesson. Guests on TripAdvisor seem to like that approach as 99% of reviews give this tour 5 stars. A night kayak tour in Berlin probably didn’t cross your mind when making your itinerary for your trip, but this tour is certainly a unique way to experience the city in a manner that most locals haven’t enjoyed. The route is 2 hours (5 km distance) and you will be traveling via small canals through the neighborhoods of Kreuzberg and Neukölln, two popular areas for great nightlife. Bring a change of clothing so you can hop out of your semi-wet clothes and change into your nighttime attire and enjoy the local nightlife after the tour is done.
