Before You Buy

Free Tours By Foot has extensive experience providing tours to over 100,000 travelers in cities around the world.

If there's one thing we know about travel, it's that costs almost never go down, so it's important to find as many ways to save money as possible.

The following section will break down the differences between each Dublin tourist pass.

These discount passes include admission to a variety of popular attractions and tours in Dublin that our guests frequently ask about, and they can be a great way to fit more activities into your budget.

If you’re confused about how to use the pass or what it does, make sure to take a close look at our definitions for each pass type below.

All-Inclusive

This tourist pass will provide free entry to dozens of popular attractions for one flat price.

Rather than paying for individual tickets, you will pay to use the pass for 1, 2, 3, or 5 days.

All-Inclusive passes offer the biggest opportunity for saving money on tours and attractions, but it also means you have to keep really busy to see those savings.

Pick Your Attractions

If you want to have some control over which attractions you pay for, this type of pass allows you to choose from 3, 4, 5, or 7 different activities for one low price.

While the deal you'll receive with this pass isn't as high as other options, it is certainly more than you would pay without the service!

Travel Pass

Technically speaking, this isn’t a tourist pass. With that said, this service will save you a lot of money if you want to get around Dublin with ease.

Although it does include a few free activities, the main feature of this pass is access to multiple forms of both public transit and hop-on-hop-off bus tours.

Bus Tour Combos

Even though it’s not a tourist pass, bus tour combo packages act like one and are a pretty good way to save money on popular activities in Dublin.

Each combo deal includes a hop-on-hop-off bus tour and admission to at least one additional attraction.

If you’re only interested in visiting specific locations in the city, this could be a great way to get a great deal without purchasing an actual tourist pass.

All-Inclusive Pass

In this section, we will give you details about how to use this pass, which attractions are included, and how much you will save.

We will also include a comparison between the Dublin all-inclusive pass and other discount options.

The Go City Dublin Pass

This is the main tourist pass offered in Dublin, and it includes more than 30 different tours and attractions for one low price.

Passes can be purchased for 1, 2, 3, or 5 consecutive days in a row.

There’s no need to purchase tickets in advance, so you can skip the ticket lines wherever you go.

While some activities require advanced reservations, others provide direct entry at the door!

Using the Go City app, you won't even need to print anything out -- your smartphone is a digital pass!

Each pass also has a digital guide to help you find your way around the city with ease.

In addition, you will have one year to activate the pass, giving you plenty of time to take advantage of the benefits.

Just keep in mind that these passes must be used on consecutive calendar days.

If you’re looking for a deal on several different attractions, this is one of the best ways to save money while visiting Dublin.

That said, you can get discounts and even free admission to specific locations with both the Travel Pass and Bus Tour Combos.

Although the hop-on-hop-off bus tour offered by the Go City Dublin Pass can be used to get around the city, anyone looking for more transportation options should definitely consider the alternatives.

Explorer Pass

The Go City Dublin Explorer Pass is much different from their all-inclusive service, as it allows you to pay one flat price for only the specific activities you want to enjoy.

You can choose between 3, 4, 5, or 7 individual attraction options, and depending on which options you choose, you could save up to 40% off general admission prices.

Unlike other discount passes on this post, the Explorer Pass is actually valid for 60 full days.

Here are a few of the best activities included with this pass:

  • Game of Thrones Studio Tour
  • Big Bus Hop-on Hop-off Tour

  • 7-Choice Pass: €109/Adults | €59/Children
    • Price per Choice: €15.57/Adults | €8.43/Children

Purchase the Go City Dublin Explorer Pass.

If for whatever reason you are unable to use the pass, you will have 90 days after purchase to return any non-activated pass for a refund.

It should be noted that some of the attractions included with this pass cost less than €10, so they probably wouldn't be good choices.

However, there are plenty of activities that usually cost well over €20, making the Explorer Pass worthwhile.

Here's an example of how you might use a 5-Choice Pass to save money:

  • Big Bus Hop-on Hop-off Tour | €32 value
  • Game of Thrones Studio Tour | €45 value
  • Food on Foot Walking Tours | €25 value
  • Guinness Storehouse Tour | €28 value
  • Roe & Co Distillery Tour | €25 value

Total Value: €155

Total Cost: €94

Total Savings: €61 (39% off)

As you can see, it's entirely possible to save quite a lot of money with this discount pass.

All you have to do is make sure the attractions you pick are valuable enough to get the best possible deal!

DoDublin Travel Card

This section will explain the important details about the Travel Pass.

In addition to covering how much it will cost and how to use it, we will also include a comparison to give you a sense of how this pass stacks up to similar services in Dublin.

The DoDublin Travel Card

Offered by the DoDublin bus tour company, this travel card includes access to their main hop-on-hop-off bus tours in addition to public buses and Airlink Express for a total of 72 hours.

All you need to do is show your card to the driver before getting on the bus and you’ll be ready to go.

Additionally, you will also receive free admission for a few additional activities.

There is also free cancellation with at least 24 hours' notice.

Services Included

  • 2-Day DoDublin Hop-on-Hop-off Bus Tour
  • 3-Day Airlink Express Transportation
  • 3-Day Public Dublin Bus Service
  • Little Museum of Dublin Admission
  • Free Dublin Walking Tour

Price: €48 per person

Purchase or learn more about the DoDublin Travel Card.

If your main concern is getting around the city and seeing all of the most significant landmarks, this is a great deal.

It’s also nice that they offer both a walking tour and admission to the Little Museum of Dublin for free.

That said, there are a lot of places (like the Guinness Storehouse and the Jameson Distillery) that many visitors will probably want to see.

While the DoDublin hop-on-hop-off bus tour will take you to each location, you’ll have to pay separately for tickets to get inside.

Alternatively, you could use the hop-on-hop-off bus tour included with the Dublin Pass to get around the city and enjoy free admission to 30+ attractions.

The DoDublin Travel Card costs much less, but it doesn’t include as many services. Keep this in mind before deciding which pass to purchase.

Dublin CityPASS

CityPASS is a popular brand of discount passes that are available in various cities across the world, but unfortunately, this service is not available in Dublin as of July 2023.

These tourist passes typically include a specific selection of 3-6 popular attractions and an additional 2-3 activities that you can pick from a short list.

If you're looking for an alternative, this is essentially a prepackaged pass, and it's most similar to options such as the Explorer Pass and the DoDublin Travel Card.

Rest assured that if and when a Dublin City Pass/CityPASS is available, we'll add it to our list!

Bus Tour Combos

In addition to the tourist discount passes available in Dublin, there are also often at least a few hop-on hop-off tours that include admission to additional attractions or activities.

Here are a few options you may want to consider:

City Sightseeing Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour + Irish Whiskey Museum

Do Dublin Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour + Little Museum + Walking Tour

  • Includes admission to the Little Museum of Dublin
