About Us
Free Tours by Foot - Philadelphia is a group of young (and young at heart), fun loving guides who have come together for a common cause: To teach history and entertain guests with creative tours of the City of Brotherly Love. To contact us, there are three options. The first and most reliable is to email us at info@philadelphiabyfoot.com. The second, and equally as reliable option, is to text (sms) us at 267.712.9512. Another option is to call us at the same number.
We offer free tours for one very important reason, so that everyone can enjoy a fun, creative and educational walking tour experience at a really great price: FREE. We work exclusively for gratuities, which means, if you don't like the tour, all you lost was your time. We guarantee your satisfaction. We are so hip, we know you will tip.
Meet the Crew:
This firery redhead, who is naturally a blonde, is a born Jersey girl that is proud not to have a fake tan or hair bump. Grew up "across the Ben" but has Philly in her heart and history in her blood. Went to Washington & Jefferson College in the Pittsburgh area. Yes her college mascots were two guys in white wigs! Came back to Philly to get her MA in Museum Studies. Happily worked at the city history museum but has come outside for some fresh air as a tour guide. She has traveled to France, Spain and Japan and currently has a bad case of wunderlust! When not giving a tour she is either living as a mermaid by clocking countless miles in the pool, talking someone's ear off about what ever her latest passion is, or haunting the halls of Philadelphia's rich and ample museums and libraries.
One of the most experienced guides in Philadelphia, Mike has been at it for over 6 years, in almost every style you can think of (and one or two you can't). In 2011, Mike was one of the first batch of guides certified through the voluntary program offered by the Association of Philly Tour Guides, an organization of which Mike is not only a charter member, but also a two term board member. In 2008,Mike gave a lecture on colonial taverns and beer; he will be speaking in May 2012 on the history of Mothers Day. Outside of that, Mike is an ordained minister (Universal Life Church), a playwright with three plays and a musical professionally performed, an actor and director. Mike also takes classes regularly in sword combat, from cutlass to small sword to dagger.
