Free Walking Tour of the Financial District

It is here, as much as anywhere, where American history started.  It's where the first US Congress assembled and produced the Bill of Rights and where President George Washington took his first oath of office. It's here where the world's most important stock exchange and one of the most famous bridges stand. And it is here where an unspeakable tragedy took place and where a rebirth is underway.

Join Free Tours by Foot as we stroll through the ancient streets of Manhattan's Financial District and explain the rich history of New York City.  From a Dutch trading post to a world financial capital, no stone is left unturned.

Sites we cover on the tour:

  • The Charging Bull
  • Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty*
  • Fort Amsterdam and Castle Clinton
  • Federal Hall
  • Wall Street and New York Stock Exchange
  • Trinity Church
  • St. Paul's Chapel
  • World Trade Center (Ground Zero)*
  • Woolworth Building
  • City Hall
  • Fraunces Tavern
  • and much more!

View photos and read more in depth descriptions of sites from the Lower Manhattan Walking Tour.

*We do not visit Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty or  World Trade Center Site on this tour, but discuss them from a distance.  Tickets are necessary to enter the National September 11 Memorial.  For more information on obtaining tickets, please visit their website.
