Known as America’s first suburb, Brooklyn Heights is truly a gem. These quaint, tree-lined streets have been the sites of Revolutionary War battles, abolitionist activism and have inspired numerous novelists. Visit a stop on the Underground Railroad, or the home of Truman Capote, where he penned Breakfast at Tiffany’s and where Jackie Robinson signed with the Dodgers.

Join Free Tours by Foot on this two hour walking tour as we take it to Brooklyn and command the heights of one of New York City’s most historic, beautiful and architecturally diverse neighborhoods, with beautiful homes in various architectural styles, from Federal to Greek, Gothic and Renaissance Revivals, in forms ranging from carriage homes to mansions. Brooklyn Heights is hard to beat! Come also for the stories of engineering feats, military defeats, anti-slavery preachers, prodigious authors, legendary athletes and fictional TV families. Where: We meet on the stairs on the north side of Brooklyn Borough Hall.
