What is the weather like in New Orleans during April?

AVERAGE TEMPERATURES IN APRIL

In early April, you will see the daytime high temperatures mostly in the mid-70s F (23-25C) while the early morning lows tend to fall to the upper 50s f the lower 60s f (13-17C). A few of the cooler mornings can occasionally dip into the lower 50s f (about 10C).

By the end of this month, the afternoon highs will have warmed to the lower 80s f (27-28C) with a few days reaching or exceeding 86f (30C). Temperatures of 90f (about 32C) or higher are rare this month with the all-time extreme high being 92f (33.3C).


HOW MUCH SUN AND RAIN

Skies tend to be sunny or at least partly sunny on about 18 days this month with some rainfall normally occurring on about 6-7 days. Significant rainfalls of 1/2 inch (13mm) or more, however, usually only occur on 2-3 days.

WHAT TO WEAR IN NEW ORLEANS IN APRIL

A light jacket or windbreaker or sweater may be all you will need for the cooler mornings and evenings, otherwise, short sleeves and other summer clothes will do for most afternoons this month. For those few rainy days, you should bring your umbrella and don’t forget a good pair of walking shoes to see all the sights.
