Join Free Tours by Foot for a 3 hour tour of Philadelphia's Chinatown, a journey through the history and culture of this rich and growing community. We have designed this tour to provide visitors with excellent insight into the neighborhood's culinary possibilities and the distinctive personality of this diverse Asian neighborhood.

At each food stop, you choose what treats you would like to taste. Try them all or none at all (don't forget, this is also a history and culture tour). Unlike on other tours that charge around $45 for a set sample menu, with us you choose what to eat and how much to spend. Suggested amount to bring is between $10-$12 cash, depending on your appetite. You may also want to bring a reusable grocery bag since you will want to bring it home to share! The highlight for many is the final family style shared dumpling meal, so pace yourselves to have room!! You will not leave hungry for flavor or history!

Tour information

Reservations: REQUIRED. Click here to reserve. Groups of 6 or more must contact us before booking.

Where: Outside the AIA (American Institute of Architects) Bookstore at 1218 Arch St. between 12th and 13th Streets across from the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Look for your guide with a Free Tours by Foot Sign and wearing orange or holding an orange umbrella.

End: The last stop of the tour is a family style share dumpling meal at the famous Dim Sum Garden 1020 Race St.

Duration: Approximately 3 hours. Tour distance is approximately 1 mile (1.5K).

Cost: This tour is free to take, and you get to decide what, if anything, the tour was worth when it's done. A name-your-own-price tour is a tour for anyone's budget. Suggest food sampling price $10-$12 cash.
